I want to write up a short fairytale on a recluse that has gone through every faze possible and has now grown obsessed with transforming herself into a witch. She lives out in an amazing house in the woods with a giant fire and a Hansel and Gretel type kitchen. She also has a studio where she stores her wigs and spindles. She knits her own wigs with GIANT knitting needles. One shot will be of two tiny children lying on the ground wearing balled caps with drapes and drapes of black hair coming from the centre and balling around her/your giant knitting needles. Your other more normal sized needles are stored in the belly of a skinned fox like a pin cushion. Another shot will be of you dining to a cake tray of worms and insects and another of you standing in a giant fishing net of Eal in the woods where the lighting will be of 4.30 winter time. The broom will be beautiful dark bark and frazzled bristles and will be in the corner of each shot because I think making things more obvious than they already are is really funny. You will be done up beautifully - your hair huge, loosely tied up with subtle spirals, your eyes - a rich cranberry and black smoke and your cheeks will be contoured with black to give that really gaunt effect. The lighting throughout all the shots will be warm dusky lighting with neutral colours but slashes of vibrant colours and there will be dried flowers in every shot. There is a lot to think of but hopefully I'll be able to set dates soon and in the meantime I'll get some props. I do know a guy who has a skinned fox frozen in his freezer so that's sorted and I can get my hands on a spindle. As for outfit ideas I only have one at the moment which I will have to try find but I'm thinking a tight black Gothic dress that goes to the ankles and flows out into a trail, three quarter length tight sleeves that slightly kick out at the elbows and shoulders that shoot up - of course! And maybe a lased pleated cone collar like a delicate dog shaped collar, you know the ones when they come out of the vet.
Jennifer O’Brien - the scene is set.
